Hope

The contours of age, transparent on the visage,
Yet, the eyes harbor dreams—larger than before.
Perhaps therein lies the hope, faith, life’s aesthetics.
Life doesn’t conform to expectations,
Yet that shouldn’t hinder our thoughts,
For thoughts are life’s powerhouse,
Whence springs the possibility of life’s desires.
But thoughts shouldn’t rob life of its sleep and repose,
As aspirations have their limits
Tethered to time.
Recalling these limitations, I whisper quietly—
Hey, time! I await the day you shall arrive,
Bearing all my dreams.
