A Spanish lady, my roommate
Came with a murderous face and a human arm, dismembered
On a bloody tray and threw it in front of me.
Blood spilled over my feet.
The warmth of the blood seethed into my soul.
A chilling terror rushed up my spinal cord,
And I shivered, almost fainted.
Unable to imagine
How such an inextricably fair lady
Committed an unfair crime.
She said with raucous laughter,
Bringing me back to consciousness.
“Tulasi, it is fake. Today is Halloween.”
